RASP – Shake That Ass!

February 24, 2010

Purchase the remix HERE: Tommie Sunshine & Dan Aux “Brooklyn Fire” Remix + Dan Aux VIP Edit

Musical Icon, Tommie Sunshine and myself recently teamed up on a remix project for Italian label Hypotron Records.

Getting busy with the pseudo dutch-house stylings of Jay Robinson & SupabeatzRASP.

To top it off Tommie brought the ‘Brooklyn Fire’ heat with some bonus vocals to create an even more unique point of difference from the original jam.

The official release date is 25th February 2010, exclusively on Beatport and all other digital stores thereafter.

It’s a huge package with no less that six remixes accompanying the original, plus I’ve also whipped up a VIP mix which you will be able to download with the package.

Get In The Van!

February 24, 2010

Yes indeed! The man, Henry Rollins returns to NZ for more spoken word performances.

I’ve been a fan of Henry since highschool back in the 90’s and have always looked up to the guy as some kind of a role model. He speaks the truth and stands up for what he believes is right. Which is what makes his sometimes 3hr long spoken word performances so unique. That’s right, just Henry on stage, with a mic. It’s like Bill Hicks meets Jelo Biafra. The guy is a machine.

“Since I was last on tour, I have been working in television and radio, traveling all over the world” says Henry “And like everyone else, dealing with the changes America – and the world – is going through. I thought America would become a more peaceful place in 2009. I had no idea the country had so many lunatics. There’s a lot to remark upon, of course. There always is.”

If you haven’t seen him before, but have always wanted to, I suggest you get along this time round. You won’t regret it.

Press Release:

When Henry talks about traveling the world, he’s not referring to plush resorts and genteel European cities. Henry’s current and most recent travels include stops in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, China, and Senegal. These global experiences – like past excursions to such vacation hotspots as Pakistan, Myanmar, and Siberia – not only supply humorous anecdotes for Henry’s talking shows, but they inform his worldview. As Shepherd Fairey’s tour poster bills it, Knowledge without mileage equals bullsh*t.

Amidst his extensive globetrotting, Henry the actor, author, and radio host remains as busy as ever. Henry recently concluded an extended guest run as rival thug A.J. Weston on the FX biker drama Sons of Anarchy. He continues to do his weekly radio show on L.A.’s revered NPR affiliate KCRW.

Henry’s latest book, A Mad Dash, is now available at http://www.henryrollins.com , through his own 2.13.61 imprint. Picking up where 2007’s A Preferred Blur left off, A Mad Dash is a frenetic travelogue spanning over one hundred live performances and the filming of five documentaries on five continents. Henry has also been tracking his travels – and sharing his thoughts on politics and the state of the world
– on his Straight Talk Espresso blog at VanityFair.com.

Chicken What?

February 24, 2010

Chicken What?

People send me alot of shit, but this is actually good. And how cool is that fat kid in his glasses, I hope the MC on this track is him. But I doubt it. Looks like he has just walked out of a 1970’s KFC, and Elvis Presley was ordering right in front of him.

(Thanks Ben Ewart)

Indeed it’s begging for a remix. If I get enough people commenting I might just do one.

Those Crazy Kids!

February 24, 2010

Those crazy Kids from kidcityblog have been reading my twitter and facebook updates way too much and pwned me with this picture from the 1992 Winter Olympics, Albertville, France... yep back when I was a champion figure skater. I had all the moves 😉 This one is a rare shot, from the after party. I was so wasted I used my partners head (and nose) to clean up the ‘unknown’ substance that spilled all over the rink!

Keep up-to-date with all my day to day ramblings here:

Your Girlfriends Favourite Song?

February 24, 2010

Alot of my DJ / Producer friends test new music on their girlfriend 1st. I do the same thing and 99% of the time if she likes it, chances are everyone else will too.

You can’t deny, women have a unique taste in music, they love their pop and their rock, dance and drum n bass. But most of all they love to feel good when experiencing music and they ALWAYS want to sing along. This is my girl, Shannon’s fav tune at the moment. It’s growing on me, to the point that I thought I’d share it with you all.

Ellie Goulding – Under The Sheets

What’s your girls fav tune?

Dan.

P.S. for more of Shan’s awesome taste in music, check out her radio show, The Boutique every Saturday from 8pm on George FM.
